One-stop service: Airtrade is banking on the GDS expertise of the PASS Consulting Group for its booking and processing technologies and therefore benefits from a unified XML interface for all travel systems.
Airtrade has been operating as a consolidator and as a travel technology provider on the Dutch market since 1989 and also provides travel agencies/tour operators and airlines with booking and processing technologies (Internet Booking Engine, WebAPI, etc.). The company currently uses three GDS for its systems: Worldspan, Amadeus and Sabre. Airtrade reduces internal expenditures by relying on the PASS Travel XML API Tool XX/1. It integrates the travel offers of the three providers and converts them into a unified XML format. PASS also enables Airtrade to access low-cost carriers via the aggregator Elsy Arress (Pyton). The key advantage: standardized access via a single interface.
Focusing on the essentials
“The XX/1 allows us to focus on our core competencies. Technological changes by providers are automatically taken into account and implemented by PASS,” said Frank Wester, CFO Airtrade Holland BV. Flexibility is provided by the powerful XX/1 core; adapters enable additions to be made at any time and at short notice. “PASS helps us quickly react to new market demands and create added value for our customers thanks to efficient and scalable solutions,” said Wester. PASS recently complemented Airtrade’s booking and processing technologies with Sabre’s global distribution system. “The final system test together with Sabre and one of our customers revealed a bookability of 98.46 percent and thus a higher performance than with the Sabre WS Enhanced Air Book,” said Steven Kooij, Business Application Owner at Airtrade. Michael Strauss, Head of Business Unit Travel at PASS added: “Our strength lies in our independence and in the special knowledge regarding the various content providers – enabling us to bring out the best for each of our customers.”
