New XX1 release: More adapters – higher comfort

The new version of the PASS Travel XML API Tool XX1 offers additional adapters as well as more efficiency and convenience.

PASS has expanded its Travel XML API Tool XX1, which provides access to all major GDS, central CRS, flight, hotel, rail and car rental systems as well as low-cost carriers. In total, customers with corresponding third party contracts now have more than 60 interfaces available, which have been normalized to a uniform XML format. Particularly noteworthy is the support of the Travelport Universal API for Galileo, Worldspan, Apollo and Airline Content Hub Carrier (ACH) – this means that all Southwest Airlines fares are now available. In addition, On Hold Booking Support has been integrated for ACH bookings, which makes it possible to reserve these for a defined period of time. In order to provide its customers with a complete package, PASS also supplies structured data via the Travelport Universal API, which would otherwise have to be integrated individually via Cryptic – e.g. the transfer of the GDS profile into the Passenger Name Record (PNR) or the query of the PNR history. “Our goal is to make the complex, global travel world comprehensively and easily accessible. To further expand our offering and accelerate integration and transaction times, we are currently working on extending our XX1 interface technology. Topics include simplified workflows, reduced data mappings and an integrated policy and file finishing engine. The aim is to enable our customers to come to market quickly with innovative solutions such as mobile solutions or bots”, explains Michael Strauss, Head of Business Unit Travel at PASS.

Further new additions in XX1

With the new release, customers also have access to the content aggregator Travelfusion, the car rental company Enterprise Rent-A-Car and – to a reduced extent – the Brazilian airlines Gol Linhas Aéreas, Passaredo Linhas Aéreas, Azul Linhas Aéreas and Avianca Brasil.

More efficiency and comfort

The new XX1 version now supports Ancillary Services and Branded Fares. To this end, the necessary schema changes were made and integration was pushed ahead. In the area of Ancillary Services, booking via the Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) also ensures efficient processing.

Another innovation is the integration of the Amadeus Mini Rules. These create a summary of the most important tariff conditions for each price query, i.e. they are available in a structured form. Automatic Exchange functionalities (e.g. Amadeus Ticket Changer and Automated Exchanges from Sabre), which enable simple and transparent rewriting and reimbursement of tickets, also contribute to greater convenience.

PASS will soon make its XX1 available in a 64-bit version. This improves performance, shortens processing times and optimizes resource utilization.
