The consumer portal CHIP wanted to know which banks offer their customers the best online contract. abcbank scored as the best provider for the call money account and achieved a top ranking for the fixed-term deposit account. The foundation for this success is the online banking of the PASS Consulting Group.

abcbank sees itself as a modern financial services provider and accordingly online product offerings are part of the bank's portfolio. When it comes to online banking, the Cologne-based bank has already been working with PASS since 2019. Now, for the first time, the consumer portal CHIP has analyzed which banks offer the highest satisfaction when contracts are concluded online. The abcbank convinced as the best provider in the category of call money and also in the category of fixed-term deposits it was able to record a top ranking.

The fact that such customer enthusiasm could be achieved is not least due to the PASS Online Banking. In close cooperation with abcbank, this has been and continues to be developed further. This includes both the joint improvement of existing functions and the addition of new features. PASS Online Banking meets the highest security requirements, and at the same time transfers, balance and turnover inquiries as well as contract conclusions can be carried out comfortably with just a few clicks. It combines transparent menu structures with a modern design and intuitive usability. Another essential component is the flexible open API architecture, which is used, among other things, for the integration of the Core Banking System. In this area, too, abcbank relies on a solution from PASS with SolutionWorld Banking.

A first milestone

At the same time, we see them as an incentive to further optimize our Online Banking System," emphasizes Werner Traidl, CEO of PASS MULTIBANK Solutions AG. PASS is currently working on making the onboarding of new customers even faster and more intuitive. In addition, the company is consistently pursuing the strategy of a Full Open Banking Architecture, which ensures openness at all levels. This also includes being able to deposit new products quickly and easily.

Overall strategy confirmed

"On the way to the best" is the overall strategy of PASS and the vote of the users underlines that this claim is also increasingly taking shape in the solution components of SolutionWorld Banking. "Our vision of developing best practice online banking is increasingly becoming a reality," summarizes Gerhard Rienecker, Head of the Banking Business Unit at PASS. "This gives banks the opportunity to differentiate themselves from their competitors in the market." Here, PASS draws on more than ten years of know-how from its online banking studies, which have been analyzing the internet presences of banks in the DACH region since 2008. The focus is on the sales process: from information to advice to closing. In addition, the company has reorganized its product management and clearly focused on the topic of user experience.

About the survey

The customer survey commissioned by the consumer portal CHIP and conducted by the market researcher ServiceValue on satisfaction with the online contracts offered took place from July to August 2021. During this period, 33,190 ratings were obtained for 245 financial service providers in ten categories. Customers were able to answer from very satisfied (=1) to dissatisfied (=5). This data was used to determine the best provider per category and several top providers.
