PASS expands XML Interface Manager

PASS expands XML Interface Manager adding North American and European rail

PASS Consulting Group has expanded its travel backend to include an interface to SilverRail. This provides PASS clients with standardized access to rail companies from the USA and Holland, as well as Canada, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy and Sweden.

It occasionally proves difficult to integrate rail passenger transport into the Travel Management system. The lack of competitive pressure means that there are hardly any homogeneous standards in place – rail companies tend to operate on a local basis for the most part. The SliverCore technology platform from SilverRail combines rail information from around the world on a single system and makes it possible to access schedules, rail connections, tariffs, prices, as well as reservations and cancellations.

Worldwide rail mobility

This collaboration sees PASS significantly expanding its rail offer once again. As well as Deutsche Bahn (Germany), it now covers Amtrak (USA), VIA Rail (Canada), SNCB (Belgium), Nederlandse Spoorwegen N.V. (Holland), RENFE (Spain), Trenitalia (Italy), ATOC (UK) and SJ (Sweden). "All-encompassing access is currently a very attractive prospect for globally active companies – for instance, we have recently integrated SilverCore at an international financial institute," explains Michael Strauss, Head of the Travel Business Unit at PASS. SilverRail is currently expanding in the direction of Asia, which opens up a range of interesting new opportunities. "It is our vision to interconnect all of the world's rail companies and create a global market place," says William Phillipson, Executive Vice President & Chief Product Officer at SilverRail Technologies.
