Travel Agent Desktop goes international

Travel Agent Desktop goes international

Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI) and PASS Consulting Group enter into a partnership for the worldwide distribution of the multi-source booking system for travel agencies called Travel Agent Desktop (TAD).

Travel Agent Desktop is a booking system for travel agencies that combines all central sales channels in one web interface: from GDS and NDC direct content to other direct connections as well as low-cost carriers and aggregators for flights, rental cars, and hotels. This means that individual travel offers no longer have to be processed in different systems. Within Lufthansa City Center (LCC) offices in Germany, TAD has already been an integral part of the booking technology known as Bridge IT. Now the international Lufthansa City Center franchisees can also benefit from the software. The travel agency network comprises a total of around 500 offices in over 85 countries, of which 230 agencies are located outside Germany.

“For Lufthansa City Center International, it is important to offer leading technologies to our members worldwide. Through our partnership with PASS, we enable LCC offices worldwide to deploy a solution, which already has a proven track record in Germany. These synergies within our LCC network, across the markets, help us grow well-tested and top-notch applications and we are excited to bring PASS now also to our global landscape," comments Martina Groenegres, Managing Director at Lufthansa City Center International.

Flexible combination of individual travel offers

Competitiveness requires presenting customers with the best offer. To do this, travel agencies today often have to book and process their services in different systems. This means the transaction of bookings does not follow a central process, and the data is often stored redundantly in the applications. TAD makes it possible to compare content from different sources without process interruptions and to make all work steps as efficient as possible. The result is a perfect end-to-end process: from offer management to booking and post-booking processes. The bottom line is that travel agencies can not only offer better advice and price benefits, but simply tap into additional revenue streams and realize saving potentials.

"We are very pleased that Lufthansa City Center International relies on our Travel Agent Desktop to push global sales with us. Initial product presentations met with great interest," explains Anne-Kathrin Geuppert, Head of Business Development Travel EMEA at PASS.
