PASS is a member of UP KRITIS

The situation of IT security in Germany remains tense to critical - this is the conclusion reached by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in its 2021 situation report. Critical infrastructures are a particularly sensitive area. In addition to the state and administration, energy, transport and traffic, health, media and culture, water, food, and finance and insurance sectors, these also include information and communications technology. Not least because it is of outstanding importance for the functioning of the other sectors, especially against the backdrop of increasing digitization.

The UP KRITIS

As an IT company and provider of Cloud Services, PASS has recently become a participant in UP KRITIS, a public-private cooperation between operators of critical infrastructures, their associations and the responsible government agencies. This is based at the BSI. The central goal is to maintain the provision of services by the operators of critical infrastructures in Germany at a high level of security.

"Through our membership in UP KRITIS and our cooperation with the Alliance for Cybersecurity, we are able to effectively protect our cloud services against new threats. In particular, we participate from the very timely warning and threat reports of the BSI as well as background information that we would not receive without this membership," says PASS Information Security Officer Egon König.

The members of UP KRITIS work on technical and organizational issues, both sector-specific and cross-sector. This serves to prepare for and prevent security incidents. In order to counter current threats, the members also exchange information on the threat situation, basic technical issues and procedures for crisis management.
