About the PASS Late Year Benefiz

The PASS Late Year Benefiz concert series has been held annually since 2003. The proceeds benefit charitable children's and youth projects in the Rhine-Main region as well as in developing countries. This year we are supporting the construction of a school in Sierra Leone.

In previous years, the proceeds benefited the following projects, among others:

  • Construction of two schools in Malawi (Lilongwe)
  • Construction of a school in Namibia (Oroutumba)
  • The Frankfurt Ark
  • Help for children with cancer Frankfurt e. V.
  • Children's home Aschaffenburg
  • Youth sections of sports clubs in Frankfurt and Aschaffenburg

The PASS Late Year Benefit originated from a company Christmas party in 2001, when people were thinking about how to make the event more attractive, interesting and sustainable. From then on, it became a public benefit concert. "We felt that the Christmas party was somehow outdated and decided to create an event in future that would be so interesting that third parties would pay admission to donate the proceeds to a good cause," says Heidrun Fernau-Rienecker, Chief Marketing Officer at PASS.

After starting out in the Stadthalle Aschaffenburg, the event moved on to the Capitol Offenbach and finally, from 2005, to the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Even today, PASS employees still meet up after the concert for an after-show party with a tombola. The proceeds from this also go to the charity.

Artists who have performed at previous Late Year benefit concerts include Candy Dulfer, Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Inga Rumpf, Dieter Hildebrand & Roger Willemsen, Anke Engelke, Klaus Doldinger & Passport, Helen Schneider, Curtis Stigers, Ute Lemper, Culcha Candela, Tom Gaebel, Max Mutzke, Milow, Joy Denalane, Mikis Takeover! Ensemble, Stefanie Heinzmann and many more.
