AI-based optimization of the last mile

AI-based optimization of the last mile

PASS Logistics Solutions AG will be showcasing its software solutions for tour optimization and planning from the cloud at LogiMAT in Hall 8, Stand C53. The motto: "We optimize your last mile with artificial intelligence (AI) made in Germany."

With its own data centers in Germany, the subsidiary of the Aschaffenburg-based PASS Consulting Group makes the PASS Optimization Service (POS) algorithm - the digital dispatcher 4.0 - available to its customers in its service engine MAPSERVICES as well as the comprehensive enterprise software PLANTOUR and the web-based planning tool PASS MAPS. This supports the human tour planner in their daily optimization in various degrees of automation and takes their individual preferences into account. Everything is provided in a hybrid cloud mode with reduced hardware requirements for the customer: Memory and computing-intensive operations, which require expensive hardware, take place in the PASS Cloud. The valuable order data remains directly with the customer.

With the help of AI, the POS carries out planning operations in milliseconds. In doing so, it records the specifications of the human dispatcher and optimizes them. The digital dispatcher also remembers good results and builds on them for future calculations.

Digital from planning to the vehicle

In addition to the planning options, the digital consistency of the system across the entire delivery process is important for customers of the PASS portfolio. This is why PASS bridges the gap between planners, drivers and end customers using various partner solutions, among other things. Several modules can be integrated here: from the smart messenger-based service from ZeKju to the integrated fleet solution from Webfleet - seamlessly from planning to the vehicle. When using driver communication, the progress of the tour is fed back into the dispatch monitor and recipients receive updates on the progress of the consignment at the same time. The dispatcher can react immediately to deviations from the plan and change the further course of the tour.

"This year at LogiMAT, we will once again be demonstrating that sustainable digital tour planning and artificial intelligence go hand in hand," explains Jan Junker, CEO of PASS Logistics Solutions AG. "We are thus providing our customers with the right tools to successfully optimize their last mile."
